4- Workflow management

Learn how to create, edit and delete a workflow from the main menu

Introduction

A workflow is represented by a complete list of blocks, also called processing blocks, chained together from data recovery to deployment.

Workflows can be read from left to right: when two blocks are interconnected, the output of the left block will be the input of the right one.

If you change a block configuration, its output will change and the rest of the chain on the right will be impacted.

Create a workflow

To create a workflow, simply click on “Create a workflow” in the top bar. A pop-up windows will open asking you to fill different informations :

  • Title (should be unique, an error will occur otherwise)

  • Project to link (click on “+” to add projects)

  • Tags (click on “+” to add tags)

  • Workflow type : at the moment, only “Blank” type is supported.

You can then click on “Apply”, you will be automatically sent to the created workflow

Please note that you can create as many workflows as you want but you can only deploy 100 of them on the platform. If you need to deploy more workflows, please contact your METRON operations engineer.

Edit a workflow

You are able to edit all your workflow in EnergyLab.

To edit a workflow and the projects and tags that are linked to it, simply click on the “+” next to those information in the “Workflows view”.

In case you want to edit the blocks workflow (configuration, chaining, etc), you just have to click on its title to open the edit menu. Reminder: a deployed workflow will be locked on “read only” status, no modification will be allowed

Delete a workflow

To delete a workflow, click on the “:” logo next to its name in the Workflows view and click on delete. A confirmation message will be prompted. Important note: this action is irreversible. Also, if you delete a deployed workflow, the live processing will be shut down but the data generated beforehand will not be erased.
