Data Deletion

Discover how to delete data on your METRON-Energy Optimization platform.

In case you find an incorrect data history, or if the data received in the platform is incorrect, you can now delete it:
  • in its entirety
  • over a specific period. 

To access this feature, please contact your METRON Operations Engineer.

Steps for deleting data

  1. Go to the "Data Sources" workspace.

  2. Select "... " on the series to be deleted and click on the icon on the right below.

    Warning: only tags of type "qualified series" that come from the sources :  
    • Process (via Metronlab or via direct upload, which contains 90% of your data) or
    • Data Science (EnergyLab models or custom data science algorithms)
     can be partially or completely deleted. 

    With this feature, you will not be able to delete :

    - Calculated data
    - Weather data
    - Manual data (which can only be deleted in the manual data table)
    - Data retrieved by downloading files from your customer area
    - Telephone call data from meters (Eveler)



  3. The window below appears on the screen. 
    You can choose between : 
    - total deletion of the history of this data (which will remove the qualification and impact all related content: calculated series and alarms)
    - deleting a specific period (the calculated series and linked alarms will be automatically recalculated to be up to date). In this case, select the desired period.

  4. Before confirming the deletion, a warning message will be displayed to inform you that the deletion is final. Once confirmed, the deletion will be effective within a few minutes.

Note: METRON will still keep this history for 6 months in a secure database.

This new feature allows you to be autonomous in deleting data.

Summary of operation: 

1. Selection of the deletion period and validation
2. METRON create a backup in a secure server which will be kept for 6 months
3. Deletion of the tag content in a few minutes
4. Restarting the calculation of linked objects: alarms, calculated data, cache.
